Whew, that's enough third person. Hi!

I write a monthly newsletter about cephalopods in science and culture, as well as my events and publications.

If you want to talk to my agent, that's the magnificent Stacey Kondla of The Rights Factory.

If you want to talk to me, try e-mail (dannajoy@gmail.com) or social media:
Bluesky (most active)
Instagram (fairly active)
Facebook (I remember it sometimes)
Tiktok (I keep forgetting about it)
Twitter (defunct)

Sometimes I draw comics about my life:

As I'm reading on a beanbag chair, a child joins and asks me to read to him. I read an excerpt of An Immense World about parasitic flies, and he is nonplussed. I realize I've become Calvin's Dad.
